On October 23, 2023, the long-promised program for family reunification of Ukrainians will finally open.
What does this mean?
This means that now permanent residents or citizens of Canada will be able to sponsor their relatives from Ukraine.
According to preliminary information, “relatives” will include not only spouses, parents, children, and grandparents, but also, surprisingly, brothers and sisters who have never been considered close relatives.
What can you do now if you are planning to sponsor your relatives through this program?
At least, you need to be prepared. The thing is that, apart from the announcement of exact data and requirements for the program, there is no other information.
It is not known whether there will be financial requirements of the host side.
Whether will there be quotas.
Therefore, it is better to be prepared with documents today. Because if there are quotas, it is best for you to apply in the first days, until they run out.
If the quotas are not announced it would be preferable for you to be among the first, because the first are considered the fastest, and then it starts to stretch for months.
If you are interested in this program and want to learn more about it and start preparing documents, we will help you with this.
