The Canadian Border Management Plan was released in December 2024. It includes specific measures involving IRCC, the Public Safety Agency (PSC), the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
These include increasing information sharing, reducing the number of illegal immigrants and illegal border crossings.
Canada’s law enforcement agencies – the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the Canadian Security Agency – are working together to ensure that the necessary personnel are available in case of a sharp increase in the number of asylum seekers arriving in Canada. It is also worth noting that the Government of Canada has held joint planning sessions with all provinces and territories to achieve maximum results.
Thus, it can be said that the government and all the above-mentioned agencies are working and have already achieved certain results in the process of ensuring the security of the borders of Canada and the United States.
