As you know, elections are currently taking place in Canada. We suggest you familiarize yourself with the immigration programs offered by leading political forces.
🟥LIBERAL:
The party is expected to maintain immigration restrictions until it determines Canada can accept more immigrants.
🟦CONSERVATIVE:
They promise to reduce the number of temporary residents in Quebec and give the province more power to choose them, as well as limit the number of asylum seekers that Canada accepts. At the same time, they plan to link the number of immigrants accepted to the number of new homes built, considering access to health care and jobs.
🟧NDP:
While the New Democratic Party has not set a target for immigration, it says targets should be aligned with Canada’s needs and whether there are enough resources for new arrivals. It plans to abolish closed work permits and give temporary workers open permits to help them avoid employer abuse.
⬜BLOC QUÉBÉCOIS:
Wants Canada to reduce immigration levels and distribute asylum seekers evenly across provinces. Also wants tougher measures for illegal immigrants and a ban on students and workers seeking asylum for six months after arriving in Canada.
🟩GREEN:
Want to coordinate immigration levels with the real capabilities of provinces. Plans to change refugee provisions for US citizens who feel persecuted by the current administration.
🟨PEOPLE’S PARTY:
By the end of the housing crisis, they want to reduce the number of immigrants to 100-150 thousand. Withdraw from the UN Global Compact on Migration, cancel the Parental Sponsorship program, prohibit students from working, and stop issuing Canadian citizenship to children born in Canada to foreign parents.
